自分の息さえ、あげないほど惜しいもの何もない

＊”Take (a person) out”に意味が２つある。

１つは、上に乗ってあるようの「人を（ところに）連れていく」（奢ってあげる意味もちょっと含まっている）

２つ目は、「人をやる」（殺す）、ということだ。初めて訳してみたら、第一つ目と思ったけど、考えたら「今夜俺がやられちゃう」って意味に成る可能性がある、と思っています

＊＊”I'm my own stone around my neck"って、文字通りに石臼じゃなくて、多分「自分は自分を抑えている」「潜在能力を十分に発揮していない」、という意味でしょう。

＊＊＊英語で、”You made your bed, now sleep in it”（あなたのベッドを用意しただろう。だからあなたは寝なくちゃ！」とういう決まり文句があります。これは「自業自得」という意味だけど、上の一行にはもちょっと意味深い感じだ。

普通に”You've made your bed..."って表現は他人に皮肉含まって言われているけど、この場合は一人称辞典から言っているから、わざとこの「ベッド」を用意したせいでもう寝れない、って感じかな。ちょっと説明にくいことだ。
